Biographical Abstracts

Jennifer Martinez-Medina is an assistant professor at Willamette University in Salem, Oregan. As a scholar activist from the farmworker community of the Central Valley, CA, she studies how transnational families exercise political and social rights through kinship and community care. She shares her findings back to communities of impact using storytelling, art, and advocacy. Some of her public research for action projects include: the Oregon Covid-19 Farmworker Study, Voces Del Campo limited podcast, Leave No One Behind Mural Project, Desolate Deported Veteran Zine, and the FAT CAT Oil Field Worker Memorial Exhibit. She has served on the national council of American Society for Public Administration and on the Latino Caucus of the American Political Science Association. She has received the Portland State University President's Diversity Award and the Public Affairs Community Service Achievement Award.
