Biographical Abstracts

Dr. David Devraj Kumar is Professor of Science Education and the Founding Director of the STEM Education Laboratory at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Within the context of science for all students, his research and scholarly activities include leadership development through STEM community engagement, augmenting the context of science teaching and problem-based learning with real-world applications anchored in digital multimedia, evaluation, and policy.

Kumar has directed research and development projects supported by the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education. He was awarded the Florida Atlantic University Presidential Award for Engaged Research for his scholarly contributions to community engagement. In recognition of his contributions to science education, he was awarded the Sir Ron Nyholm Education Prize by the Royal Society of Chemistry. He is an elected Fellow of the International Academy of Education and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
