Linwood Wright is a retired senior vice-president of Dan River Inc., a major textile producer headquartered in Danville, VA, where his primary responsibilities included research and development, quality control, customer service, and regulatory compliance. He served as a member of City Council, vice-mayor, and mayor of City of Danville. He was the first chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research, and founding chairman of the Future of the Piedmont Foundation, as well as being a member of numerous trade and civic boards and committees and chairing multiple such organizations.
