Biographical Abstracts
Rajesh Tandon’s professional education focused on engineering and management. He started as a lecturer in management, then moved to social development and building partnerships between civil society and academia. Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) was set up as a global training and research institution in 1982. Core competencies are taught in community-based participatory research, design of curriculum, and teaching/learning methodologies for community engaged scholarship. Tandon is based in India, with extensive international work. He is co-chair, with Dr. Budd Hall of UNESCO, of the Chair on Community-based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education.
